Foil Transfer Printing

Foil transfer printing is very similar to color transfer printing. Whereas in color transfer printing, we use matte colors of all kinds, in foil transfer printing, we use PMS colors in silver, gold, red, blue, and green and we may even use these colors on a tinted foil base. At Ambient Graphics, we can apply foil transfer printing to any surface, such as product prototypes, package designs, bottles, tubes, cups, jars, cans, signage, labels, models, graphics, and props. Foil transfer printing adds a certain glitz to the product packaging and helps it stand out in the marketplace. Foil transfer printing can be used for packaging comps, designs on cloth, outdoor posters, and vehicle wraps and signs.

Foil transfer printing is used to create packaging comps or prototypes for various products, such as toothpastes, food, drink, beauty and personal care products, software, and films. These packaging comps provide a new look and feel to products already available in the market, or create a look for a product that is yet to enter the market. We do this by printing the labels and package designs you create in such a way as to create packaging comps in any shape or size—be it a cube, a can, or a cone. Foil transfer printing on tinted foils is used to design packaging for medicines and chewing gum, to name a few products.

We can also use foil transfer printing for designs on cloth or outdoor posters. When printing on cloth, we use metallic foil transfer printing paste, which is stamped with a transfer foil after printing using a hot-stamping machine. For instance, foil transfer printing can be used to add glitz to a digital design for a T-shirt. It can also be used to emphasize the title of a movie or the name of a product on an outdoor poster. You can even use foil transfer printing for the masthead of a magazine issue that celebrates 25 years or 50 years of being in print.

Foil transfer printing can also be used when designing and printing vehicle wraps and signs. We can use silver and gold PMS colors, especially when creating wraps for vehicles in dark matte colors, or to emphasize certain elements of vehicle wrap designs. We can use the glitzy look of foil transfer printing to draw the attention of the public to a particular product in the marketplace.
